Layer 1: How do you outline 10 arcs? (2 hours)
Sketch the macro shape. Arc 1: introduction. Arc 2: first power-up. Arc 3: first defeat. And so on. Each arc gets one paragraph: setup, conflict, resolution, hook into next.
Layer 2: How do you split arcs into 40 volumes? (2 hours)
Each arc becomes 4 volumes. Each volume gets one paragraph: opening scene, midpoint twist, climax, cliffhanger. This is where the pacing starts to feel real.
Layer 3: How do you write 200 chapter beats? (2 hours)
Each volume becomes 5 chapters, and each chapter gets one sentence: 'MC trains with master, learns secret technique, master is attacked, MC flees.' That's it. Don't over-detail. A board or list view makes it easy to drag chapters between volumes as the shape settles.

Layer 4: How do you write 200 chapter hooks? (1-2 hours)
For each chapter, write the cliffhanger or closing image in one line. This forces you to verify the chapter ends with momentum BEFORE you write it. For technique, see cliffhangers readers can't skip.
How do you keep a 200-chapter outline from going stale?
Treat layers 1-2 as stable and layers 3-4 as living. Rewrite them every 25 chapters as the story changes, and plant the seed for each new arc a few chapters early, as covered in keeping readers engaged through arc transitions.
