Which serials are climbing Rising Stars this week?
These six hold places #2 to #7 on the main Rising Stars list as of November 3, 2026. The table has each one's numbers and launch.
Genre views. Coin and Steel is #2 on both the LitRPG and Progression views. Young World and Blood, Bath, and Beyond follow it on both.
Start dates. All six began in October 2026. The Cultivating Archmage posted its first chapter on October 8; Black Apron went public on November 1.

The Cultivating Archmage: Dao of Mana is a reincarnation xianxia. Devin is born into a sect without spiritual roots, then finds a power older than Qi: mana. The title ends with "[NO AI WRITING TOO]".
Why it's climbing. It has the most followers of the six with the fewest chapters. Pope Pug already had readers from an earlier cultivation serial, A Pug's Journey, and has posted a chapter or two at a time, almost every day, since October 15.
What reviewers say. They praise the prose and the care, and warn about pace. Several note that the scene promised in the blurb hadn't arrived by chapter 11 to 16.
“you can tell that the author cares a great deal for their work!”
“We are 11 chapters in yet the scene from the summary has yet to come”
Coin and Steel by Fairly Focused

- #3

- 2,306
- chapters on October 15
- 15
- chapters ahead on Patreon
- 20
Coin and Steel starts with the end of the world. Elliot gives his little sister his potential, lands alone in a new world with a weak Merchant class, and has to turn bartering and appraisal into a way to fight his way back to her.
Why it's climbing. The author finished and edited book one (180k words) before launch, posted 15 chapters in two hours and twenty minutes on October 15, then one every day at the same time. It is the only fiction on the author's Royal Road profile.
What reviewers say. They praise characters with their own voices and a world told through hints. The mixed reviews are about a slow first few chapters and convenient luck. Our full teardown covers the launch.
“every person on the page speaking in their own distinct voice, acting in a way that makes sense, and presenting as a real person.”
Young World by Seersucker
- main Rising Stars list
- #4
- followers
- 1,673
- chapters ahead on Patreon
- 30
- paid Patreon members (2,180 with free)
- 477
- Patreon earnings shown, all serials

Young World is an isekai about a temp worker who goes to a job interview and comes out as a god's champion in a newly settled world. He earns his god "Choices" that can add races or change the rules of the system.
Why it's climbing. Seersucker, author of Downtown Druid, rewrote a story dropped years ago and says so in the blurb. One early review comes from a reader of the original. Seersucker posted 1 chapter on October 22, 11 on October 24, then one a day at about 12:00 UTC.
What reviewers say. They like the short chapters (about 1,500 words) and the game-mechanics feel. One calls it solid but genre-conforming.
“This is great for those who don't like long chapters or don't have much time to read.”
Blood, Bath, and Beyond by Hesketh II
- main Rising Stars list
- #5
- followers
- 1,536
- from 115 ratings
- 4.76
- chapters on October 20
- 8
Blood, Bath, and Beyond is a crafting LitRPG. Rachel is isekaied, offered the role of Dark Enchantress, tells the system no and goes to the countryside to make magic soap, stabbing anyone who disagrees. The blurb says "100% human written."
Why it's climbing. The author wrote Liches Get Stitches, and reviewers came from it. One review says two other authors gave it shout-outs. It launched with 8 chapters on October 20, posted every other day, then daily from October 26.
What reviewers say. Voice, humour and a talkative system. The one 4-star review we read says it is too early to judge the plot.
“it's the most optimistic I've been for a Royal Road release in a while.”
“two of my favorite authors had separate shout outs to this story.”
AGARES by Alexander Wales
- main Rising Stars list
- #6
- from 165 ratings
- 4.78
- paid Patreon members (1,396 with free)
- 726
- Patreon earnings shown, all serials
- $2,941/mo
AGARES is told by the System. It has two minutes to build a world before its Player arrives: an anime critic who catalogues plot holes for a living. It wants to tell a story with themes, and its overseers will delete it if audience numbers dip.
Why it's climbing. It is the second serial Alexander Wales launched in October. Doomsday Pivot!, the first, was #1 last week. AGARES opened with 11 chapters on October 19 and posted at 05:00 and 17:00 UTC until October 29, its latest public chapter as of November 3.
The disclosure. The blurb says no AI wrote it and that some AI was used to catch mechanical errors, with a link to a longer note.
“Alexander Wales is great at writing humans who feel human, even in inhuman situations like isekai.”
“Much of the first chapters is spent explaining the System's rules, Mulligan's habits, and the mechanics of worldbuilding”
Four of these six promise readers that a human wrote every word. PlotWrite fits that promise: it remembers your serial and checks each chapter against everything before it, and memory and checks need no AI tag. It works with the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for.
plotwrite.ink learns your writing style, keeps track of your characters and world rules, and can draft the next chapter in your voice with your Claude or ChatGPT plan or your own AI key. Built for Royal Road, Wattpad, and serial authors who post weekly.

Black Apron: A Max Level Archmaid by RavensDagger
- main Rising Stars list
- #7
- from 161 ratings
- 4.88
- posts on November 1
- 11
- paid Patreon members (7,479 with free)
- 1,620
Black Apron follows a max-level VRMMO player who dressed her endgame avatar as a maid. She wakes up as that avatar in the game's world and swears to protect the dying Demon Lord's hopeless granddaughter at a magic academy.
Why it's climbing. RavensDagger has written many Royal Road serials and has a large Patreon. Black Apron ran there first. It went public with 11 posts on November 1, and reviewers who had read ahead on Patreon rated it straight away: 161 ratings by November 3.
The blurb. It names its comparisons: "Inspired by Max Level Archmage, Amelia Thornheart, and like, 7 different Seras stories!"
“I read ahead on Patreon and am at Chapter 66 as of this review”
What do this week's Rising Stars have in common?
Royal Road doesn't publish its ranking, so treat these as shared habits as of November 3, 2026.
One big day, then a schedule. Five of six put up 8 to 15 chapters in a single day (chart below), then posted daily or twice daily, most at a fixed hour.
Written ahead. Coin and Steel finished book one first. Young World is 30 chapters ahead on Patreon and Coin and Steel 20. Black Apron's Patreon readers were at chapter 66 on day two.
Readers who came with the author. Five of the six authors have earlier Royal Road serials, and reviews of four name the author or the earlier work.
A promise about AI. Four of six say in the title or blurb that no AI wrote the story. Two more titles on the list carry the same tag: Baby Archmage (#1) and The Law of the Abyss (#40). Readers are watching for AI prose; see Royal Road's AI policy.
A "what to expect" list. Four of six blurbs include one: pace, power level, tone, schedule.

Where are last week's Rising Stars now?
On October 22 we covered six serials at the top of the list. Twelve days later, all six have slipped down it, and all six have more followers.
Rising Stars favours new serials, so a place there usually lasts a few weeks. What a serial keeps is the followers it gathered while it was there. Plan your launch so the backlog and schedule are ready for those weeks.
Our October roundup has the full story of each.
| Serial | Place Oct 22 | Place Nov 3 | Followers Oct 22 | Followers Nov 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Doomsday Pivot! | #1 | #36 | 1,959 | 2,556 |
| Fight Dirty | #2 | #10 | 1,540 | 2,356 |
| Dungeon Expert Eric | #3 | #17 | 855 | 1,331 |
| Midnight's Monster | #4 | #24 | 1,173 | 1,786 |
| The Law of the Abyss | #6 | #40 | 839 | 1,055 |
| Sepulchral Sun | #7 | #15 | 623 | 1,009 |
How do you plan your own Rising Stars launch?
None of this guarantees a place. Royal Road makes that call. These are the parts you control.
- Bank a backlog. These six had 8 to 15 chapters ready for one day and more behind them. A finished first book is the safest version.
- Pick a schedule you can keep for months and put it in the blurb, with dates.
- Write a blurb with a voice and a "what to expect" list: pace, power level, tone, how the system shows.
- Get the blurb's promise into the opening chapters, or say plainly that it is a slow burn.
- Tell readers how the book was written. If no AI wrote it, say so. If AI helped with something, say what.
- Arrange shout-out swaps with authors whose readers would like your book.
- Ask for ratings honestly. Never offer chapters or rewards for ratings or reviews; Royal Road's rules treat that as ranking manipulation.
