    The Writathon Continuity Kit

55,555 words in five weeks is fast writing, and fast writing is where stats drift and storylines stall. The kit keeps your story straight while you write it yourself: free through 5 December, with tag-free mode on from the start.

No card needed. New accounts only.

PlotWrite never writes your story in this kit. It reads your chapters, remembers them, checks them and helps you plan; every word you post is yours. How this fits Royal Road's rules: Royal Road's AI policy, explained.

    What's in the kit

    Five things for five weeks

Everything here is part of PlotWrite today. It runs on your own AI (your ChatGPT or Claude plan, a key, or a model on your computer), and PlotWrite never charges for AI.
    • Free through 5 December

Sign up from this page and your trial runs to 23:59 UTC on 5 December 2026, the Writathon's last day, instead of the usual 7 days.

    • Tag-free mode, on

The tools that write prose stay out of the way, so what you use reads, remembers, checks and plans: back-office help that needs no AI tag.

    • Stat sheets as of any chapter

Levels, ranks, stats, skills and titles, as they stood in any chapter, read from the chapters you've posted.

    • An In-Between plan

Set where your main plot starts and ends, then plan the small steps between, so 55,555 words go somewhere.

    • A nightly 5-minute check

Each night, check the chapter you wrote today against everything your story knows, before you post it.

    The habit

Tonight's continuity check, in 5 minutes

Once you've written, your Story home suggests it as your next step: "Run tonight's continuity check (5 min)".
    • Write today's chapter yourself, in PlotWrite or pasted in from wherever you write.
    • Open Check chapter. It compares the chapter with what was true at that point in your story: a rank going backwards, a dead character talking, someone in the wrong place.
    • Each issue quotes both passages side by side. Fix it in your own words, or mark it intentional so it isn't flagged again.
    • Post the chapter.
Check chapter 12: Kael shows a Bronze badge, but the story brain says he has been Silver rank since chapter 9, and the Spire System says ranks never go down.

    Before 31 October

Plan the 55,555 words, keep the numbers straight

55,555 words over five weeks is about 1,600 words a day. A plan you made before the rush, and stat sheets that update from your chapters, save you from rereading your own story at midnight.
The In-Between: storylines from A to B with the moments that move them, chapter by chapter.

    The In-Between plan

Add your main plot as an A-to-B line, plus any romance, rivalry or growth storylines. Plan the small steps between, and PlotWrite shows which storyline has gone quiet as you write.

Kael Varro's stat sheet at chapter 11: level 21 (up 3), rank Silver, class Ember Warden, AGI 27 (up 3), INT 12 (up 1).

Stat sheets as of any chapter

PlotWrite reads your chapters and suggests the levels, stats and skills it finds; you approve them in the Inbox. Then "what were her stats in chapter 7?" is one click, not a reread.

    Questions

    The fine print

Is this allowed in the Writathon?
Royal Road's Writathon rules say the story can't be AI-generated: you write the 55,555 words yourself. This kit only reads, remembers, checks and plans. Tag-free mode keeps the tools that write prose out of the way, and Royal Road's AI policy says back-office help like brainstorming and research doesn't need to be mentioned. You write every word.
Who gets the trial through 5 December?
New PlotWrite accounts created from this page before 5 December 2026. The trial then ends at 23:59 UTC on 5 December, the Writathon's last day. No card is needed. If your trial would already end later, it keeps the later date.
    What happens after 5 December?
Nothing is deleted. Your chapters, story brain and plan stay in your account, and chapter export is free on every plan. To keep using the AI features, pick a plan: Storyteller is $14 a month and Architect is $19 a month.
Do I need my own AI?
Yes. PlotWrite reads and checks your chapters with your own AI: your ChatGPT or Claude plan through the connector, an API key from a provider, or a model on your own computer. PlotWrite never charges for AI.
Is PlotWrite part of Royal Road?
No. PlotWrite is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Royal Road. The Writathon is Royal Road's event and its rules are Royal Road's.

The Writathon's own rules are on Royal Road's Writathon page; check them before you start.
